Terrorist activities in J&K reduced by 34% after abrogation of 370: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the 2-day Chintan Shivir in Surajkund, Haryana. The home ministers of the states are participating in this. Addressing the inaugural session, Amit Shah said that there has been a 34 percent reduction in terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. At the same time, he told that the government has decided to set up NIA branches in every state by 2024. The Union Home Minister said that after the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, there has been a 34 per cent reduction in terrorist activities, 64 per cent reduction in the deaths of security forces and 90 per cent reduction in civilian deaths. Apart from this, investment of Rs 57,000 crore has also come in Jammu and Kashmir after 2019.Amit Shah further said that the NIA has been given supernatural powers. We have decided to set up NIA branches in every state by 2024. At the same time, he said that it is the collective responsibility of the states and the Center to effectively deal with cross-border crimes. He said that various suggestions have been received regarding reforms in CrPC and IPC. I am looking into it in detail. We will bring new CrPC, IPC drafts in Parliament very soon.Amit Shah said that the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act has been amended to prevent its misuse by NGOs. At the same time, the government has taken strict steps against such NGOs, which were obstructing the development of India. Amit Shah also said that this Chintan Shivir will help in making a joint plan to tackle cyber crimes, narcotics, cross-border terrorism, sedition and others.
